My second blog entry on the INC site and this one, well, is a good one.
So I wanted to give KUREK a second chance and see if maybe our clan was a little too hard on him because of our experience in Dark Hours.
I have a 'smurf' account that I use to keep summit check points like alot of us do, but I've got a half decent DPS build so I decided to hit his post up.
I got an invite into the party where I explained I needed the Eagle Bearer and I was new. I had to put on a dodgy French, Russian, German accent... I think, so he wouldn't instantly kick me.
Nothing was said when I told him this vital information. Which, is a red flag to me. Surely he should put my mind at rest as a new raider and tell me that he will be teaching me the raid mechanics and the positions I need to do within the encounters.
He had 2 other clan members in the raid, remember this info for later on in the report/story/summary 😂😂.
Anyway, let's proceed. After a short 20 mins of KUREK talking about himself, his experience, GreySixFtTall and INC clan member, Bulwalk Shield guy (DanVV) he then loads us into the beach.
So with me putting my mindset as being a completely inexperienced raider, i do what most new guys to the raid do, I run up the tunnel. Nothing said.
The raid got restarted and I was pulled back to the beach. So after the loading screen I run again, and we all run. He briefly mentioned that sub group 1 goes left, sub group 2 goes right. Which is fine, that's what we all do.
Tarmac
Nothing really explained, like where Chungas spawn from, where dogs spawn, drones etc... But I just start shooting and about 6 minutes later we make it to boomer. Great heals by REDSOXFAN, keeping the team alive.
Boomer
So after tarmac we get into Boomer. No explanation give as to what I need to do, but I was put on 44 door, and not told what to do.
So, I take the initiative and shoot the ads that come out of 44. Computers got missed on Delta Computer. Surprising right?
After a bit of a struggle we finally get past boomer. KUREK kited, with another and it's not explained what the Kiter does, whwre computers are, what computers are etc...
First Key
We progress to the first key, I have no idea about keys, because I'm new... I asked where the key was, I was ignored. I grabbed the key anyway, my smurf needs an EB lolz.
Weasel and the Bois
We get into the big boy trios (Ricco, Dizzy and Weasel) and again sub groups called in a 4 and 4 strat. My smurf account is SHD17, Im surely not going to be on B side doing the 4 and 4 strat hoping to damage Ricco for my first time doing the raid :-/
So the 4, er I mean 3 of us go down to B side, yes, someone didn't listen and went to the wrong side. The encounter was started, and needless to say we didn't do any damage to Ricco and we all got killed.
Second attempt, we had the correct number of agents on each side as REDSOXFAN who wasn't the raid leader told me to go down to B and just shoot at Ricco, I was still on B side, with no explanation of mechanics and what I was meant to do, so I run to the back of the room as I see so many newer raiders do. We start shooting Ricco, some guy had 1 Reg HS and attempts the shot on Ricco, hit, so we are on good damage. We get Ricco to health and another guy from KUREKS clan continues to damage Ricco and kills him, no button press, nothing. So purple gas, awwwweessooomme.
So I'm sitting over at B still, but I notice people running over to A so I follow.
We finish off the other 2 bosses and get the ebounter complete. After collecting my loot I proceed to try and find where to go next, still nothing from KUREK, luckily REDSOXFAN sees that I look lost, and knows this is my 'first' Dark Hours and then shows me where to tho and where the backpack charm is, what a guy/gurl (not sure if 13 yr old boy or female, sorry REDSOXFAN, you did good tho).
Baggage
Anyway, we move the team to Bagagge, and I've still not been told what to expect or what to do by KUREK, and so I just follow the team.
We get past baggage, and REDSOXFAN shows me where keys 2 and 3 are located, not the 'raid leader', some random in the raid taking the initiative to help a new player out.
Buddy Lucy
Into Buddy and Lucy we run, and I do what all new players do, run straight towards the Lucy side of the room, REDSOXFAN, explained I need to be over the other side of the room, attempted to explain the mechanics but poor thing is only young so could t really explain well and asked someone else to explain it for me.
I'm still waiting for the explaination.
Attempt 1
To much damage on buddy, none on Lucy
Talked about the how to do it on discovery but not normal. Didn't explain the mechanics, only said we'll get it eventually. Lolz
Attempt 2
REDSOXFAN disconnects from party and game, now I've been in enough raids to know when someone DC's or leaves, this poor kid left as you could see it was stressing him/her out.
A wild KimJunJeeves appears.
Second attempt on Buddy and Lucy went well, we had heals. KUREK then tried to say Jeeves name and gets it completely wrong, bloody Welsh people and there Welsh names.
KUREK continued to waffle on, and again didn't explain the raid mechanics of buddy and Lucy. But he's experienced, and we will do it. We start and as you expect it goes horrible wrong and he starts to scream like a girl when we couldn't kill Lucy and called wipe. 3rd times a charm... Hopefully.
Nope.
Attempt 3
Still no explanation.
Attempt 4
He invites his clan memeber into the party that had been in the raid since the start, who was just doing what he wanted with a full tank build on. His other clan memeber was brand new to the raid, which we found out around this point in the said and had never done it. So that's how he's teaching his clan to do Dark Hours.
He asked people to run glass cannon to 'get thru this'
Attempt 5
Still no explanation of what to do, so I asked what went wrong. His response, it's okay, it's nothing.
He then proceeded to put on gunner (question mark?) And an Achilles pulse. Pro tips.
Attempt 6
Kiters died, the gunner Achilles did absolutely fucking nothing. Shock.
Attempt 7
He finally give out a key nugget of info, when Lucy spins you need to duck. Point noted. 25 mins into the encounter.
We lost another from the raid, RIP, F in the chat for traveller.
Still no explanation.
Attempt, erm, 10, 11 or 12, I don't know, I lost count.
Finally Kim had to take over and set up the Dogs correctly, KUREK blamed Traveller for the problems. We completed Buddy and Lucy.
Razorback
Didn't show me key 4.
KUREK asks... Can anyone do drones. Smh
He asks for demos, I said yes as I had one on, and he asked me to do a gen, I'm new so what's a gen. No explanation.
So, I proceed to run straight onto the gen, like a lot of new guys do... Works on discovery right?
Still no explanation of bagagge
KUREK then puts me on ads... 3, my first time...
Then kicks me from the raid.
Invites me back in, inspects my build. Finally.
Didn't know we needed to die to get me back to to razorback as we had already dropped down. 14mins and still not started.
KUREK has lost all control over the raid, everyone starts trying to tell me what skills I need to put on, turret, hive and riot foam. So 3 skills on.
I had enough, so I stopped my Frenussiaman accent and told him that I couldn't be in a raid with him any longer.
My Summary of his 'leadership' experience.
He's not capable of running a raid, he can't do heals or drones which in my eyes that's the most important part of leading a Dark hours raid, knowing those two positions so if no one volunteers you know that they are going to be ran correctly.
The guy is very very toxic, when things get tough he doesn't say a word and relies on the rest of the guys to pick up the slack, which if you have an inexperienced team you can expect that to happen and the team that he had assembled for the 'session' lacked for want of a word, a clue.

Hope this was an insight into the KUREK teaching raids.

He's still at it same Toxic behavior. Has not changed one bit..
